After Porn Ends (2010)

 After Porn Ends (2010)

After Porn Ends, is a documentary that not only examines the lives and
careers of some of the biggest names in the history of the adult
entertainment industry; but what happens to them after they leave
the business and try and live the "normal" lives that millions of other
Americans enjoy. They hailed from the rural South, steel towns, and the
San Fernando Valley. As teenagers, and young adults, none of them thought
that porn was in their future. They were artists, baseball players, child
prodigies, and even Ivy Leaguers. Now, after their lives in porn; they're
TV stars, bounty hunters, writers, and social activists. What happened
in between? And now that they've moved on, can they really live a normal
life after porn?

The Secret in Their Eyes (2009 Argentina)

The Secret in Their Eyes (2009  Argentina)

In 1999, retired Argentinian federal justice agent Benjamín Espósito
is writing a novel, using an old closed case as the source material.
That case is the brutal rape and murder of Liliana Coloto. In addition
to seeing the extreme grief of the victim's husband Ricardo Morales,
Benjamín, his assistant Pablo Sandoval, and newly hired department chief
Irene Menéndez-Hastings were personally affected by the case as Benjamín
and Pablo tracked the killer, hence the reason why the unsatisfactory
ending to the case has always bothered him. Despite the department already
having two other suspects, Benjamín and Pablo ultimately were certain that
a man named Isidoro Gómez is the real killer. Although he is aware that
historical accuracy is not paramount for the novel, the process of revisiting
the case is more an issue of closure for him. He tries to speak to the key
players in the case.. (Huggo IMDB)

If you stumble across this you may as well keep going. There is nothing here except a note to myself.

I found myself with a large number of no budget independent movies. Many of them weren't worthy of notice but there were a few gems that had a fresh non-Hollywood feel. The listing here was originally to help me track what I had watched. Just a title and four or five screen shots to help jog my memory.

It expanded into old horror, exploitation and noir B films which I also had quite a number of. Then a bit of more current stuff and even a few mainstream big name Hollywood releases. The  number of screen shots grew with some detailing the plot, on other films it focuses on the cast and with some they are just pretty random.

The screen shots were pretty conservative. There were a couple porn parodies or versions of horror films though the screen shots showed no nudity except possibly on the DVD cover.

Texas Vibrator Massacre (2008)

The inclusion of a documentary on Dick Drost and the Miss Nude America contest brought such interest that at least for a period of time the general trend of the screenshots had less of a PG rating trend to them.

Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961)

The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961)

What a pleasure to return, by chance, to an age of cinema when
visual trickery, emaciated plot and stereotypical non-characters
were not the norm! The basic situation of the story, ... is that
two nations have simultaneously detonated nuclear bombs in their
Cold War induced weapons testing hysteria, and have shifted the
axis and orbit of the Earth with the result that the planet is
headed for collision with the Sun. This premise unfolds gradually.
Today, we would be shown, during opening credits, a slick computer
generated graphic of mushroom clouds and the Earth from space,
sailing through the cosmos toward destruction. (Richard McDonald IMDB)

The Flesh Eaters (1964)

 The Flesh Eaters (1964)

A group of young adults are trapped on a desert island
only to find the water inhabited by a violent form of
flesh eating organisms.  (IMDB)
